I never know whether to call this time of year autumn or winter – especially when the clocks have gone back and so many of us never see the light of day at home during the working week!
For us here at Wiemann, autumn seems to start in September, with a really busy month of exhibitions. It was great to see lots of customers, existing and new, at Long Point and the Autumn Furniture Show at Stoneleigh. I’m pleased to say that after what can best be described as a slow summer (well, we were all outside enjoying the fantastic weather!) sales have picked up and we should see a good end to the year.

I know our retail customers always like to hear about our best sellers so you can compare and contrast your own performance. So, looking back over 2018, it would be Loft from our VIP range, Serena from our semi-solid collection and Kansas and Berlin from our core models. Hollywood and Luxor continue to score highly even after several years, their perennial appeal, I believe, down to great design and fantastic storage options at outstanding value for money.
Favourite finish this year has to be pebble grey which we launched in January this year, closely followed by Havana which we launched in 2017 and which continues to grow and perform well.

And now we’re into selecting our new 2019 models for the UK market, ready to be revealed at the January Furniture Show (and at Cologne for those who can’t wait the extra week!). I can’t tell you much right now – but we’re talking a couple of great new colourways and look out for a bit of ‘industrial’! Some of you got a taste of things to come with Salzburg, which we brought to our shows recently.
