We couldn’t believe it when we heard we had won the trade journal Interiors Monthly’s ‘Best Overseas Furniture Manufacturer’ award for the third year running, To say we are thrilled and delighted to win this accolade would be an understatement. In more than 40 years in business, I’ve never experienced three consecutive years of an award. It makes me believe we must be doing something right. And knowing that this is the view of our customers makes it even more special. It makes us all feel as if our hard work has paid off.
We are equally excited to be exhibiting once again at Long Point from 14-16 September – and, even better news, we have been fortunate enough to secure a permanent space on the third floor of Harrington Mills, where our near neighbours will be Ercol, Alstons and Vincent Sheppard. And we’ll be the only German bedroom brand there, too.
We think our acceptance into this prestigious Long Eaton fraternity is a huge endorsement for the way we are gradually re-positioning the Wiemann brand in the UK away from the budget end and more towards the middle to upper middle market sectors. Our continuing success with AIS and AIS retail members also illustrates this shift in perception. No wonder our better end ranges, the VIP Loft, new Scarlett, Westside and Eastside and the semi-solid Avore and Serena are all doing so well.
Although it won’t be manned all the time, we’ll be using the showroom outside of Long Point shows for customer meetings and training days, too. There’s space for us to display about five or six ranges – our extended showroom at Signs in Essex remains in place and a very important part of our UK customer support.
Long Point is open to all retailers, of course – so we look forward to seeing you all in September!
