PLENTY TO LOOK FORWARD TO!

Well, the football’s over. So is Wimbledon and the Tour de France. And the long hot spell has been broken by heavy rain. So as we head into August, what have we got to look forward to?

The Irish Furniture Show (August 18th -21st) of course!! And perhaps after all these super summer distractions, people might want to head back to the shops and buy some furniture at last!

The organisers of the Dublin show must have had some sleepless nights earlier this year when they had to change the date because it was going to clash with visit from the Pope!

But we’ll still be there and delighted to support our two relatively new Irish agents Darren McKenna and Kieron Friel. They’ve done such a fabulous job promoting Wiemann across Ireland in the past 12 months – our business on the island has more than doubled!

Sydney

We’ll be focusing on some of our most successful new introductions on our stand at the National Show Centre in Dublin. This includes our semi-solid oak newbie, Sydney, a nice, simple, traditional slider plus complementary chests, with either mirrored, crisp white or smokey havana glass doors.

All In

Kansas

Then there’s All-In – a great, hinged door range which comes with a choice of two ready-made interior packages which take all the strain out of figuring out what to order.

Kansas, a new take on best-seller Loft, is also a favourite with retailers. It includes a selection of smart innovation features, such as the one-touch-auto-opening hinge mechanism – thought to be a unique feature among current bedroom furniture products – and the auto on-off shelf strip internal lighting.

With all this increased business in Ireland, it’s a good time to announce the latest new recruit to the Litmus team: Andy Mear has joined us as our new HDI (Home Delivery & Installation) manager. Andy will be making sure our current HDI service runs as smoothly as possible but he is also looking at how we can build on and improve the HDI proposition to make sure it’s Best in Class for the future.

The Irish show is of course a precursor to a busy Autumn, with Long Point (September 17-19) and the Minerva Autumn Furniture Show at Stoneleigh (October 2-3) on the horizon plus MOW in Germany (where prototypes for 2019 are first unveiled).

But more of those later. I’m off on holiday for two weeks with the family.  So I’ll be raring to go come Dublin!
